Default marked down laptop worth it?

I can get a Toshiba p35-s609 for $1469.00 and it has been rebooted with the recovery cd. The down side is it has blemishes and light scratches on the top of the unit when closed. It's from CCty. How long it will last from last night is unsure, but what should I be concerned about or should I. I was ready to get it until I saw the top had scrathes. Almost like it was upside down on the floorboard and slid around.

What are my options?

thanks

guess it depends if you care about scratches? I always have qualms about marked down laptops, always makes me wonder about what happened to it kind of thing, but if it doesn't bother you then go for it

Just curious, is this a brand new notebook? Or a lightly used one?
