Default TV Tuner Not Working...Help Please!

I just reinstalled windows on one of my computers, and my TV tuner isn't working.

When i go to device manager, there's an error mark on "Multimedia Controller" and I noticed under "sound, video, and game controllers" there's one called "legacy video capture devices". That must be the tuner being detected right?

by the way, it's a philips tv tuner card, i took it out and looked at the brand...couldnt' tell what kind of tuner it was without doin that..

so yeah, any help? i can't find drivers or anything on the philips site..

Without the original software disk you're in a crisis there. The quick solution when the tv tuner software won't load correctly here is to remove everything to see a fresh install of the software and drivers with instant results after a pair of system restarts.

Your only option would be to right click on the yellow marked items and have Windows perform an automatic search or replace the card entirely. What did you do with the original software disk? You should have that around somewhere.

Look on the card and see if you can find some numbers on the chip or anywhere on the card.

If you only find a serial number or item stocking number one free tool the System Info for Windows(SIW) will display all hardware and software information on a particular machine. http://www.gtopala.com/

The image here will show how detailed the information is when selecting a tuner card currently in a pci slot here that also uses a Phillips chip.
