It's fine, although spraying at the fan can be bad if you run the fan excess of it's normal fan speed, like making it run unintentionally at 5000RPM with compressed air when it's normal speed is 2.8k RPM or so.

Thats the most dangerous way to clean a PC because of ESD. Learned it in A+

I use combination compressed air and vaccum cleaner. The best way as the high speed compressed air dislodges the dust and gets imediately sucked up. And its best to remove as much from the motherboard as possible, Do all cards separately.

Its amazing how much you computer performance can increase from a good cleaning
