Default Direct X 7 update to Direct X 10?

Just looked at this PC's DirectX and it's DirectX 7.1(4.01.07.3000). It's an ancient machine spec wise using ME.

I not sure if it can be updated to a current version and if so if it evan will make any kind difference. It doesn't play games, just surfing & email. But it clags and goes slow evan watching a youtube.

Also where do you get the update download from?

Thanks, sorry I did not know I had a reply thought the forum would have it on automatic replies. Will have to work out how to put that on.

DirectX10 is only available for Vista, the highest you can upgrade to is DirectX9.0c. Even then, unless your card supports DX9.0, theres really not much point in upgrading.

If you have a really old graphics card, it doesn't if you have directx 9 installed, the performance is still going to be slow.
