Default Motherbaord dilemma (for a friend)

A friend is going to be doing a similar build mine cause he liked my set-up, but he wants a different motherboard, he was wondering if the Asus p5k motherboard is better than the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L motherboard. He also plans to run the E8400, and a HD 38XX

Personally prefer Gigabyte than Asus.
DS3L is OK. But it have only 4 SATA. If you need more, just get GA-P35-DS3R
