Default should i get vista.....

I'm thinking about getting vista but i'm not really sure if i should. So i have some questions to help me out.

1. Is vista worth the upgrade from xp?
2. Has vista worked out most of the bugs or does it still have lots of problems?
3. Will there be any performance difference between vista and xp? General use and for gaming, mainly gaming i'm kind of big on gaming right now
4. What version should i get Home Premium or Ultimate? I dont really know if ultimate is that much better or not. Does Home Premium still have a system restore?
5. I know with my xp oem version when i changed the motherboard i could reinstall xp, but will i be able to do that with the vista oem version?

Thanks in advance

My suggestion is to stick with XP. Vista has many problems and user's find it unstable and unusable.

I second that.Windows xp is a reliable operating system and most programs and software you download from the internet are all designed for it.Vista has benn reported as unstable by many people when it comes to program functionality etc.

AS for performance XP is much more better, because Vista uses a lot of page file which decrease up the speed and the available memory.
And not all software are vista compatible..
soo...

I have vista and xp. I would wait a year until the More updates and service packs come out for vista. They did a test for gaming performence xp vs vista in a magazine and well lets just say Vista went home crying . Vista = dx10 lower fps. Only go vista for gaming if you have 4gb and an 8800 gt and higher for the future.

Well, first of all it is necessary to find what system do you have to make a right decision because you have to be ready that Vista will be much more resource intensive than XP.
Not sure about the games but my friends who have Vista had some problems with apps because they didn't run in Vista.
If I were you I won't switch.. Can you give me 5 reasons to switch from XP to Vista?
Surely we all will switch to Vista sooner or later. But i think we should wait still until more improved version of Vista comes.
