My parts got here this Thursday, and I built my computer. Here are the specs:
E8400 Gigabyte DS3L P35 Diamond HD 3870 4GB G.SKILL DDR2 800 Antec 900 Corsair HX 520W WD 320GB 7,200 RPM HD DVD/CD Burner/Reader I'm currently installing Vista 64-bit Ultimate, and am planning on dual booting it with Ubunbu. A tutorial said that with Vista/Ubuntu, it was easiest to just do Vista first then Ubuntu, as Ubuntu has better, for a lack of a better word, adapting technology than Vista does. Ubuntu can recognize that there already an OS installed, and it will not try to remove it, as Vista does. (http://apcmag.com/5022/dualbooting_vista_and_linux). I think I got that figured out (if someone has tried this technique and it hasn't worked, I'm happy to hear what you got on Vista/Ubuntu dual boots, and I don't want to hear how bad Vista is). Main question that I know a lot of you would know the answer to (as some of you are happy with Vista) is: How do I turn off all that security mumbo jumbo that I encountered when I used Vista before. Like having it ask you twice before you run a program. I'll notify you guys with updates and stuff. Thanks.

Awesome. When I get around to it (aka not playing around with my computer) I'll take some pictures.
It was $1,060. Very nice.

Congrats, Tuxify. I'm happy for you. OC'ing the e8400? The dual-boot is a piece of cake, BTW. Shouldn't have any probs.

Thats great, can't wait to see some benchmarks!
To turn off the most annoying mart of vista (UAC), go to Start > Control Panel > User Accounts > Turn User Account Control On or Off > De-select the check box

Okay, I got all that annoying security thing closed, and now I'm having mundo problems with the internet. I know theres nothing wrong with my connection, and even vista recognizes that I have 100% connection (wireless). Problem is, every few reloads, Firefox takes forever to find the connection, and I am having the same problem with Steam. It looks like Vista is going to be more harm than good, so I'll probably end up going back to XP and just dual booting it with Ubuntu. The real test is Counter-Strike: Source. If I cannot play that with a decent ping (or a ping at all) then I will just go down to XP.
Any suggestions on how to get the internet working? And while I'm typing this, the little thing on the bottom right is going from "Local and Internet" to "Only Local"... Also, whenever I restart, I have to go unplug the router/modem and re-boot them before it picks anything up... Not a problem I had with XP on my other rig...

Oh, and to reply to what everyone else said:
@mep916: Yeah, I'll overclock once I get all the qwirks worked out. @dougland: I sold my old rig that I had bought for about $800 in the summer, for $800 a week ago. I got the money for that from a job.
