I've found very few reviews about this model (probably because it's newish). From what I've heard, I'll need to upgrade the power supply to at least 450-500 watt. I also plan on upgrading the graphics card at a later date but for current purposes it's fine how it is.

Please let me know what you think and if it's an ok buy or not.

Also, before anyone posts a comment about building my own. I neither have the time nor the patience to do so. Not looking for top of the line, high-end but just want something that won't give me problems and be fudged up in 3 months. Also I want to know if Gateways on average have had good reviews as of late, as well as if say HP, Acer, or Compaq are better choices for me.

Thanks again!

Matt

Overall it seems like a nice system. What will the main use be for it? Also, what PSU is included with it that you think will need to be upgraded?

Make sure you check the shipping price as sometimes they will jack it up a decent amount.

Default Mostly used for...

I will mostly use it for college stuff (homework and whatnot), photoshop type design programs, and in my free time medium graphics type gaming. mostly FFXI right now but branch off every once in a while. Nothing too graphic intensive.

Also, in one of the reviews I read, it was said to have come with a 300 watt PSU which they complained wasn't enough to power it correctly during certain operations but once they upgraded to a 500 everything was peachy.

As for shipping, I don't think Best Buy charges if I choose to have it shipped to one of their retail stores and pick it up, of course haven't looked into it. Will get back to you on that.

Default Bumpers...

Bumping for additional opinions. Sorries, anything at all you have to say will help.

OK System for the price. I'd recommend custom as most here will, but it's a good system overall. You'll need a better GFX though.

I am also interested in the same machine. Do you think a machine could be built for the same price or less with better parts? I have never built one before however I would be willing to give it a shot.

Thats a good deal imo. As you probably know downside to buying from a manufacturer is locked down motherboards (no overclocking), poor video cards, power supplies, etc. Video card, and power supply issue is fixable, but overclocking is pretty much out of the question.

this one right, looks like a nice comp.
