Default EVGA GeForce 8600GT Video Card Run at 50 degrees Celsius?

I was looking at purchasing the EVGA 256-P2-N751-TR GeForce 8600GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card from NewEgg.com.

I was reading some of the customer reviews and there were complaints that the video card runs at 50 degrees Celsius while idling. Anyone have any experience with this video card? Does it run hot?

If it does run hot what are some alternative video cards to that run cooler and are about the same quality. My price limit is $110.

is that a problem? lol my 8800 runs at 74*C at idle... i dont have very good cooling... but gfx cards can go to like 120*C without being damaged so i hardly think its a problem. 50 is very cool.

Thanks for the information.

I know 60 degrees Celsius and above is a danger zone for most modern Central Processing Units and just assumed video cards were the same.

yeah i was like WHAT?!?!?! when i saw what my card was running at haha.

but nah its fine. the only reason mine goes so hot is cos the fan is set to run at 25%... and wont go faster unless i go into rivatuner and set it to auto...

with the fan running 100% i can get my 8800GT to 50*C lol.

How old is the video card? Has it been overclocked? Is it still under manufacturer's warranty? Do you have the receipt of purchase? What is your price?
