Default AVG and outlook

Ever since I've been using my new computer Outlook shows that almost all my email has attachments. This is a notepad from AVG. (attachment)
Quote:
No virus found in this incoming message.
Checked by AVG Free Edition.
Version: 7.5.516 / Virus Database: 269.19.18/1254 - Release Date: 1/31/2008 8:30 PM
Is there a way to make it not put this as an attachment into every email I get?

Sorry I think I found an answer and I cannot remove this post. If someone has authority to do so, please do.

Disable the email scanning feature and leave yourself unprotected! That was the only thing other then contacting Grisoft on that. The information shows that the incoming mail is secure and doesn't contain any "bugs". That's a part of the program's design there.

I know it's doing it's thing but I'm saying it didn't show attachments to every email before I put AVG on the new computer. On my old one it had a msg at the bottom but no additional attachments.

this is where I found what I hope is the answer: http://www.computing.cc/antivirus/st...tlook-express/

thanks

The optional setting there should be the winning ticket for you there. The process of seeing if any incoming mail has viruses attached obviously generates the appearance of an attachment while that supposed to show none was found. The link there is a good catch however since that shows the optional settings.
