Its not that quad core is useless, its just that most things aren't programmed to properly make use of all of the cores. Ask someone else on the forum whos used both to see if they've seen a huge difference by switching to quad core.

With gaming people might see better FPS in dual cores than Quads, as stated above, most games are only coded to support 2 cores. I know only one game currently quad-supported, HL2.

well i'll be getting it in August of this year. so if someone is suggesting a setup, it'd be sweet if they could include shtuff not out yet...

I think Crysis and Gearos of War are as well...however I may be wrong.

Default quad core

Its awsome if you do rendering work like i do.If you just game.It will hurt mostley,and help some.

Only things I can think of that have been publicized are the Nvidia 9 series cards, but nobody has any pricing on those really, and then the Yorkfield intel processors.
