Default Computer still takes a little to long to load

Okay well I just got my laptop fixed. Windows was wiped clean from all viruses and spy ware and anything else. And before it was pretty bad. Before it would take an hour (I know that's how bad it was) to load up. And it would shut down by itself and everything would constantly freeze and unfreeze. Now it takes probably only about 5 minutes to load up. Maybe a little more. I was wondering if I could make it run faster then that.

You don't want to un-check them all! Some of them are programs that the OS needs to operate!

I have a similar problem as well...my computer is only about 4 years old and it takes about 10 minutes to fully load.
I'll have to try the msconfig (i tried it once, but not a real heavy job on it.

it's not recommended to use msconfig tool withouth being helped by some1 who understands it.
The thing is, for the first case that loads in 5 minutes, there is a possibility of virus remnants.
And for the other, we don't know have you had virus problems, or not.
In either case I suggest :

  • Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.
  • Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
  • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
  • Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Additional Tasks dialogue.
  • Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
  • Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
  • At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
  • Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
  • Click Save to save the log file and then the log will open in notepad.
  • Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
  • Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
  • DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

We will then examine the logs, and prompt you what to do after.
If it is needed to go to msconfig, please don't do anything withouth consulting us here.
Or at least some1 who's used it before successfully.

Hello!
I've answered here and on your mail. Your log is not full!
It only contains running processes, you have to copy the entrie log.
The startup items are on 04 entries!
Please scan again and paste the entire log so I can se the 04 entries!
Also, when you fixed what you did in msconfig, is your system running faster?

Sometimes scientists make things alot harder than they need to. All they've gotta do is put a big spring on the ground where they think it's gonna land, or send a mission to the moon to erect a sign that says "Welcome to Earth".
