Default Won't recognize hard drive.

I got a used motherboard from my brother. It had a SATA hard drive on it. The HD was wiped clean using Webroot Window Washer (Webroot System Eraser). It has an IDE hard drive on it now. When I try to install a new SATA hard drive and clone the existing IDE hard drive, I get a message saying it needs two hard drives to continue. I have tried to check BIOs and can't see anything wrong. Please take into consideration that I'm not computer smart. I'm doing all this trying to learn. I could take it to a computer shop but that would not really teach me anything. Thanks for any help.

Oftentimes on MoBo's you'll need to enable a setting to allow it to detect both IDE and SATA drives. What model is your Motherboard?

Motherboard is an ASUS P4P800. I cloned a SATA hard drive from that same hard drive/motherboard b-4 and did not have any trouble. Could erasing the other hard drive have changed or deleted something?
