Question Need to know name of port...

I got these old controlers that use the port in the picture here

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k2...8/P1090600.jpg

and i want to find an adapter to use them on my laptop and having no idea what it is called doesnt help me any. If the picture is unclear there are 15 "pin holes" 8 on top 7 on bottom

I would greatly appreciate any help thanks.

Parallel ports for joy sticks/controllers on many of the old sound cards as well as serial ports were pretty the analog method for addon devices and controllers like joy sticks, printers, scanners, etc. prior to seeing usb becoming widely used. One 15pin layout along with the long description for using a joy stick inteface is seen at http://www.epanorama.net/documents/j..._joystick.html

That's a game port. You can buy an adapter to convert the controller to USB. I have some here actually. Here's one idea:

Why would you add an adapter when there are usb controllers readily available to save the middle step? http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCateg...me-Controllers Just about all types these days are usb with a driver disk included.
