Default Keyboard not working with new mobo

I just replaced my old mobo because it was making the heat sink heat up really bad and the psu was constantly on ...anyway those two problems are solved with the new mobo but now my keyboard isnt working. The new mobo is a Biostar model P4M900-M4. When I turn the computer on I dont get any beeps just goes to the screen that first screen that shows what devices you have connected (ie IDE Channel 0 Master: Maxtor..., IDE Channel 0 Slave: None, ext.)..well on this screen at the bottom it says

CMOS Checksum Error - Defaults Loaded
Warning! CPU has been changed or CPU ratio changed fail.
Please re-enter CPU settings in the CMOS setup and remember to save before quit.

Press F8 to Enable system configuration
Press F9 to Select Booting Device after POST
Press F1 to continue, DEL to enter Setup

Well I am not able to press any of those options cause my darn keyboard wont work. When I start the computer the lights on the keyboard go on for just a second and then go off, and never coming on again. It is a PS/2 plug and I tried both connection even putting it where the mouse should go and just the same one second of light on the keyboard and then nothing. The keyboard was actually working fine on with the mobo i replaced. If need be I will see if i can find another keyboard to test out. I just dont have one but maybe i can find someone that has one. Thanks in advance for any help

if it's wireless stick in a new pair of batteries

check if your keyboard has a button to enable/disable the f keys.

mine is labeled F MODE
