Making song short

I am totally noob on this! How to cut song?

I am making a video.. I added a music... but the song is longer than the video.... I want to cut the song to same lengh as the video. I tried to shrink the song bar but it result in chipmonk sound!

I am using Video Edit Magic if that helps.

you can't shrink a song, if it's 4 minutes you can't make it 3 or 2, not that i know of anyway.
though you can manually edit the song and remove choruses or verses you won't need to put it to your desired lenght.the only thing you can do is either extend the video to the songs length or cut the song, which will make it unfinished.
i think AUDACITY can help with the job if am not mistaken

Patrick is right Audacity is probably the way to go, also since its free and easy to use.
