Default Hard Drive Noises

Hello Guys,

Recently I formatted my hard drive and installed windows xp. I was on vista but i couldn't play this game on vista so I went back with xp till that bug is fixed. I install XP got all updates, internet security and everything. Then i installed the game and installed skype. Whenever I am in the game and click on skype my computer restarts. I tried reinstalling both program and it still does the same. Then a friend said maybe it is a windows error so I formatted again. After I did the above again it started restarting on me as i do the same process. Sometimes when I restart my hard drive is making scratching noises. Does that mean the problem is coming from my hard drive and I should do warranty asap. Please let me know. Thank you.

try going to the manufacturer's website and use their diagnostic tools. they may even have downloadable .wav files on hard drive failure sounds [hitachi]
