Is there such thing as PCI-e x16 network card?

I need to replace my onboard ethernet controller and my PCI slots are full and I was wondering if there was such thing as a PCI-e x16 network card availible.

Also, would a PCI-e x1 fit in a PCI-e x16 slot?

Not for PCI-E x16, but they do have PCI-E x1 NIC cards. You can use x1 cards in an x16 slot as well if thats what you're wondering.

Is there a speed difference between the PCI and PCI-e x1 cards? My average internet speed is 550 kilobytes/sec - will I get the same speed with PCI-e x1?
