This may be a hella noob question but can i use a desktop cpu on a laptop.... or is there no specific laptop cpu? i wanna get a e8400 and can i use it in my laptop until i have all parts for my computer??

I doubt it highly, laptop cpu's have a low fsb and a very low thermal output, i doubt your laptop's mobo would support the processor, and it deffinatly wont be able to keep it cool
