why would you want 2 7950GX2's? I assume you can get them really, really cheap? (Quad SLI only pays off in really high resolutions)

Agreed. The retail prices for that card are outrageous. Buying two, unless they're really, really cheap, would be a mistake. A better approach, perhaps, would be the Radeon 3870 X2. In March, AMD will release the drivers for Quad Crossfire aka CrossfireX.

Quad sli is overkill man, it would be too expensive. Unless you play games as a profession, Í don't suggest anyone to get it, unless you have A LOT of money to burn, even then there would be better things to burn it on. I have read some reviews, and crossfire seems to be way better than SLi, so if you really want a multi card setup, then go crossfire, but if you just want a single card setup, then stick with Nvidia, I would suggest the 8800GT or the 8800GTS, the models with the 512MB memory, not the old ones with the old core, these have the new G92 core.
