Default Problem playing games

When I try to play crysis with eveything on high ( the recommended settings for my computer) I get flashing graphics and then after a few seconds BSOD. When I play with everything on low, it has no problem. I am using the drivers that came with my 8800 GTS, and latest version of directx. Occasionally it works fine on high settings, and I have played for several hours. Any ideas?

if you're using vista, I would make sure that you have the Fixes for the Nvidia drivers. also, check the Nvidia site to see if they have newer drivers.

I would also not trust that utility. the crysis auto-configure is wrong often
it said mine was only good for medium graphics and no AA... but I put it on high and 8xAA and still run smoothly. the same thing happened with my friend's computer.

*if you google the error codes that the BSOD give you, you could further identify exactly what is causing it my guess, is bad drivers or outdated ones.
