Question PSU problem....

Hi

Just buying a new 500watts PSU.
I am using my PC maybe 18 hrs per day.
after one week of using, it cause a spark of fire and I smelled burned electricity.
I am just connecting 3 fans, board and 2 HD..I think these are not too much to consume the whole 500 watts.. but, why is it happen?
