Unhappy Bad Trojan problems Please Help!

I have had bad trojan, worm problems, the more I look the more I download only to find that I am either making it worse or fixing it. My PC says I have this file that is missing MSVBVM6O.DLL. I have downloaded the missing file and now i cannot extract it. Can you please help me figure out how to fix this problem. I have considered formatting as a last resort.

Any help would be greatly appreciated:

To fix that error message, please download and run the Visual Basic 6 Run Time files. Answer Yes when asked if you would like to install them.

Please post a HijackThis log:

Please download the HijackThis installer from http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en...HJTInstall.exe.

Run the installer and choose Install, indicating that you accept the licence agreement. The installer will place a shortcut on your desktop and launch HijackThis.

Click Do a system scan and save a logfile

When the Notepad window opens choose Edit -> Select All to select the entire log, and copy and paste the log into a reply post.
Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.

I am not expert in HiJackthis logs however I have noticed you are using two anti-viruses. AVG and Avast! Something that is no good as they can conflict and cause problems. So choose one you would like to keep and uninstall the other one.

Another thing is this:

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {0579B4B6-0293-4d73-B02D-5EBB0BA0F0A2} - C:\Program Files\AskSBar\SrchAstt\1.bin\A2SRCHAS.DLL
O2 - BHO: Ask Search Assistant BHO - {0579B4B1-0293-4d73-B02D-5EBB0BA0F0A2} - C:\Program Files\AskSBar\SrchAstt\1.bin\A2SRCHAS.DLL

O2 - BHO: MySidesearch Search Assistant - {1648E328-3E5A-4EA5-A9C6-E5F09EE272DA} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\mysidesearch_sidebar.dll

I could be wrong however these things do seem suspicious. Do not do anything yet until someone else on this forum clarifies this as I do not have much experience with HiJackthis logs. The only thing you can do now with my help is uninstall one of the anti-virus programs you have.

Please run HijackThis and choose Do a system scan only.

Place a check next to the following entries:
  • R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
  • R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
  • O2 - BHO: MySidesearch Search Assistant - {1648E328-3E5A-4EA5-A9C6-E5F09EE272DA} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\mysidesearch_sidebar.dll
  • O2 - BHO: BrowserCmp - {1D8282E6-BC4F-469B-AAED-7E4FF077AD93} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\iebrowserc.dll
  • O2 - BHO: (no name) - {F6E3B4B3-525F-4756-80AC-65ABF1961439} - (no file)
Please close all open windows except for HijackThis and choose Fix checked

Please reboot your PC and post a new HijackThis log. How is your system running now?
