Default Stop Error Code

I received the following error message accompanied by the blue screen of death and would appreciate what the problem is:

0X0000008E (0XC0000005, 0X8059231E, 0XF09AA9D0, 0X00000000)

The scenario that played out:

- My daughter started the computer
- She chose the appropriate user icon
- While the user icon was still showing the Windows startup music played
- The desktop appeared for a brief second the went to the blue screen of death
- The stop codes were presented, but, no amplifying information was provided, merely, windows shut down to prevent damage.

The only software modifications recently were the addition of McAfree Security Center to counter a virus that downloaded a week ago. With that virus, I had to go to a previous sys config that did work to regain control of my computer. While the computer was running, I was unable to CNTL ALT DEL to stop the Internet Explorer. I noticed the computer was still interfacing with the I-NET (we have a wireless home network) while I could not stop the machine. I disconnected power then restarted, but, still did not have admin privileges for my computer (think I was hijacked). Since downloading the virus software updates (a scan detected 16 items) and the return to a previously good sys config, all work well, although a lot slower. Then this weekend, the blue screen.

In order to get my machine now, I changed the battery on the motherboard, used F8 at startup to start with a known good config, and the machine is now working, and hence, this email.

I would appreciate any assistance. My computer vitals:

DELL DIMENSION DIM2350
Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.20 Ghz
2.19 Gz
256 MB RAM
Windows XP Home Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 1

Again, thanks in advance.

This is so far unkown error code, at least to me.
Please consider this:
Update Your Windows XP to SP2.

Go to Microsoft and update to SP2.
If that link doesn't work try this one.
http://www.update.microsoft.com

After doing so, set automatic updates on ( in control Panel ).

a firewall is like a gate. it keeps the bad people out and the dog in but it's not fool proof. but lets say you download and run an infected program. that will be like letting in a "friend." if it's infected you run that program you can get malware. that's like a friend raping your family and stealing your money.
