Thumbs up Advantages of Computer Building!

So it comes down to the question: What would make me want to build my own computer when I can just buy one? In my opinion, I will just name a few, you get exactly what you want for the price you want it. You can repair them yourself better (you know your computer a little better...hypotheticly . ect., ect... I am about to build one and can't wait to start. Sounds like fun. Just wanted to hear yall's thoughts.

Yeah basically what you said, you can choose the parts, they're much better quality, you'll have the actuall OS install disk, cusom/one off. the list goes on. Try getting some pictures of your build up i think i speak for most of the people when i say we love to see build pics.

You get an exact customization to your needs, experience, cheaper, and you might get longer warranties than prebuilts. (3 year with Intel, lifetime on memory, ect.)

i think the only advantages of buying prebuilt is a budget (from 300-400 bucks) and its all under warrenty with out having to send individual parts back BUT id much rather build my own...oh i wish i had money

copperkid just sell that laptop of yours and you'll have money. Ebay would have that thing gone and have you building a computer pretty easily.

Cause if he's at college, he'll also need alot more software and hardware. (Mouse, keyboard, monitor, OS, Office...ect)
