Default McAfee Antivirus-What do you think of it?

I've heard alot of bad things about McAfee. I heard that it causes problems on people's computer's. Are these things true? What does everyone here think of it?

I haven't really heard anything good about McAfee either. Norton is a lot better in my opinion, though I don't really care for that either, but if you need one of them, I'd go with Norton.

100% disagree.....that was the case back when 128mb of RAM was still something to get excited about....

I have been using mcafee for the better part of a decade and with the exception of above have never had slow down issues....except for the few weeks i used Norton and wanted to commit suicide...

but i would also suggest Kaspersky as well...excellent program

McAfee is definitely a resource hog, although probably not as bad as Norton. There are free programs that offer equal if not better security and don't slow down your machine half as much. I would recommend AVG Free.
