Is there a difference between and Intel Pentium D processor and an Intel Pentium Dual Core processor? Is it the same thing with two different names? Ive been searching but cannot find a definite answer.

Pentium dual core refers to Core architecture based chips, much, much better than Pentium D arch. They are stripped though, not as impressive as their older brothers.

Pentium Dual Cores were lower clock speed, lower voltage, less wattage, and lower multipliers.
Pentium D-series had more L2 cache I think, and typically ran hotter/used more power. Good CPU though
