Pulling the cable out isn't the best of ideas IF you have no static cable earthed, just so you know. Switching the main socket off that the computer is hooked up to, and the PSU but leaving the cable in is a better idea. At least that offers some form of earth for any time you need to poke a finger in there or two while spraying the compressed air

Thanks for the help guys I finally took out some time to get that thermal grease and apply it and the temperature dropped from 96C to 55C might still be a bit high so im gonna leave it off for a while so the grease takes shape.
