Default split files

I recently downloaded a file that had been split into several pieces. I know i need a file splitter program that joins the files, however, I am at a loss as to what to do with the one file that is left. It has no file extension and I have no idea how to access the information in it. Please help and thanks.

I agree...........unzip the 1st one then it should extract all the others in sequence. whats the extention. dont make much diff. it will always be the 1st one. if par files as suggested, do the 1st file first.

quickpar whips butt for gigs.

let family rip 400 pictures in high res.
do it with quick par and rar.

better yet, going to Europe this summer with 30 members of my family.
Digital movie camera and a 2 gig movie i made.
its not uncommon to split with winrar.
lets say 50meg chunks. i can run quickpar and convert to par files.
set up a ftp server for my family and give a 24 hr window.
they download and run quickpar. (1st file) and reconstructs all together.
if a section is corrupted then quickpar will tell ya which section is corrupted.
they email and give the perimeters then i can reconstruct the repair only.
bottom line. ....... they don't have to download everything all over again.
its sweet.

quickpar.com
freeware.
do newsgroups and you will find out.

Thanks for the help guys. Winrar did the trick. In case your curious, the files were close to a hundred variations of different music compositions my uncle sent to me. He writes music as a hobby and sends them to me and I tell him what I think.

again, thanks for the help. Peace out!
