Default Memory: non-parity, parity, and/or ECC?

Any "standard" choice among these things? I know once I do a memory search for my particular mobo (GA-X38-DS4) my choices will be limited anyway, but are any of these three things preferred?

Thanks.

Unless you have a server you'll want non-ECC/non-parity and unbuffered. And, since you have an X38 board, you don't have a server
