Move the 512s to the second slot for each channel with the same timings seen and that should work. Or you can just as well replace them with 2gb to make sure no defects are seen with the new memory since 2gb is adequate even with Vista especially with a prebuilt system.

With the new memory being the same thing by Kingston the only difference is the size of the dimms themselves. The recommended in articles seen on running the smaller dimms to see 3gb is to simply place the one or two in the second slot for each channel with the larger 1gb dimms in the A1 and B1 slots.
Same for 2.5gb with the one 512 put in the A2 slot or second slot for the primary A channel. The memory is then simply added collectively on each channel by itself seeing 1.5gb for A and the same for the B channel. |

On the olld boards that first saw the dual channel mode capabity filling all memory slots would often force it into single channel mode. Since that time all newer simply add each channel separately still seeing the dual channel mode enabled as long as the primary slot for each channel saw a dimm installed.
As long as the same type of memory is being added like the Hyper X seen in your sig and not something like mixing Kngston ValueRam with Hyper X being performance memory you won't run into any conflicts with timings or seeing two different types used. First try out the new memory by itself however to see that the new memory has no defects. Later you can add the pair of 512s in to see how those work with the new memory. |
