I leave mine on all day and night. However, It goes to sleep and the Hard drive turns off after 2 hrs of not using.

Just enable automatic standby... save it some life... and reduce your power cost by a few millicents

The RAM purge is the biggest reason for me shutting mine down. I also don't want to sleep to fan hum (my computer is right under my bed and right under my head!) Plus the case lighting is too bright to sleep with it on.

I shut my computer off at night and I turn it off if I am not going to use it within an hour.

i leave my pc on 24/7. other than maintenance restarts the only time i shut it down is when internet goes out.

my old p4 build (with a cheap ecs mobo) was on for 4 years straight. the maxtor hd, sony dvd rom, and an nec cdr gave out.

easy turn it off because of lol electricity usage but could be useful to have free use of it when ever you want
