Default Problems With Stand By

Sometimes when I click Stand By, my computer will say something like "shutting down" (i don't remember exactly what it says) but never actually go into stand by mode. Other times when I turn my PC on after it's been in stand by mode, the only thing that show is my background and won't let me log in. anyone know why it does this on occasion?

Even when clickin the restart option you will see the Windows is shutting down message as a rule. The problem of stalling when trying to come back from standby mode points at a Windows problem of some type.

The power options of setting everything to never will keep you at the desktop at all times. Or you can elect to perform a repair install of Windows if needed to see that corrected.
