Acer Travelmate 2300! "please Help"

I have a old Acer TravelMate 2300 which has been under my bed for about a year.

I put it there because i gave up on trying to fix it!!

Anyway the problem with my travelmate is when i load into windows after about a minute the whole laptop freezes 'Ctrl ALT n Dele' don't work, and i think the hard drive stops but the fan keeps on going.

Iv formated the hard drive and whacked on xp pro again and still the problem is still there?

It only works in safety mode.

Iv checked the Bios and it is upto date. "PhoenixBIOS, 3A07"

Confusing?!?
