Default formatting from MBR to NTFS

hi all
i recently installen ubuntu on a GD in my computer and i have no idea how to unformat it. now normally the HD is on one of the motherboards ports but sience it's SATA and my computer is old the HD is on a PCI host cad so ne help on how to format?
