Default Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live 24-bit 7.1 OEM

Hey guys I have the following question. Is it worth, in terms of system performance, to invest into a seperate (non-integrated) PCI sound card? I know the sound is better on paper. My main question would be whether the card eases the load of the CPU when gaming for example? I have found that the sound settings in games in my case, seriously effect performance. I am forced to lower sound settings and then most games work perfect for my needs.

Yeah that's the one I am considering. I do not want to spill out too much.

I think cause of the connectors. I chose mine so I could have headphones & speakers hooked up w/o having to unplug one or the other.

At least couldn't do it with my other card. I bought the Audigy 2 ZS
