Exclamation Really Simple Question...

I know this sounds kind of thick...but PC's that i have had always have the VGA monitor port at the back on the I/O off the motherboard...and when looking at the internet at pictures of the ASUS P5N-E SLI MOTHERBOARD there seems to be no VGA port? The system will also have a 8800GT 512mb card will that have the port on it? If so will i jus plug the monitor to that instead? Also it says the Motherboard has a 6 Channel audio I/O will this mean i can run my 5.1 speakers off it? Thanks in advance...

Yeah, some motherboards don't have onboard video, so, Yes, you'd plug your monitor into the VGA on the GT

As Danny said, if you are using a dedicated video card such as the 8800GT in your case, then you would always connect the monitor to the video card, and not to the onboard port if it had one.

And yes, 6 channel = 5.1 (6 comes from 5 speakers and 1 subwoofer).

This is the I/O for the motherboard...It seems to have just the three audio ports which is what i have right now on my PC but mine does not have 5.1 support (one is for audio in one is mic and other i forgot) SO where would the 6.1 channel support be? Or do i have to add a card...it says onboard sound

If you set it for 5:1 then LIGHT BLUE is designated Surround out. LIME GREEN front speakers out. PINK centre/bass

If you was running a 2 speaker system then LIGHT BLUE would be Line In. LIME GREEN Line out. PINK Mic In.
