Default Deleted pictures.

On my HP R817 I have a 1 gb "Super Talent" SD memory card installed. Today we went to the auto show and saw some amazing cars, and I took a bunch of pics (I'd say 100+). When I got home and put my camera on the dock to download the pics to hardrive windows only detected 46 pics. Odd. I took out the SD card and plugged it straight into my memory card reader. Same amount of pictures. The pictures that got deleted were taken in the middle of the day. (I took a bunch of pictures of some Lexus's, and the charger srt8, and then later on took a bunch of pics of super amazing cars like ferarris, bentleys, lambos, too many to name.) After that, I took some other pics of normal cars (Bmw, some jags). So anyways, all the pictures that got deleted were IN THE MIDDLE. Now the funny thing is that I can view all the pictures in windows media viewer, but when I click on the ONLY lamborgini pic that the card still had on it it turned all grey when i tried to view it at its large size. It didn't do that for ANY other picture.

Now comes the hard part. I assume that maybe part of the memory card is messed up, I don't really know for sure, but Super Talent isn't a well known brand. Is there any way I can recover these lost pictures before I toss the card? (I really doubt that the camera is at fault here.) Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Someone must not want me to have pictures of exotics. Because all the pictures of normal every day cars remained. This makes me sad
