I need some help with building a new comp, the price is around 800euros (~$900?) including a new screen.
These are the parts I've been thinking about: Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE Bulk - 7.1 sound card Transcend JetRam 2GB Dual Channel Kit (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800MHz 240-pin DIMM Codegen M-610 ATX, 400W Intel Core 2 Duo E4550/E6550 -processor NVidia Geforce 8600GT/8600GTS -video card Asus M2N AM2 NF430 ATX -motherboard Western Digital Caviar Se 160gb 7200 SATA II -hard drive Creative Inspire A200 2.1 -speakers Acer X203W 20" -screen Logitech U96 Pilot Optical Wheel Mouse Logitech Internet 350 -keyboard I'm mainly going to use this comp for WoW and multi-tasking. Now my question is that which processor and video card should I take, and will the processor fit with my motherboard? and yes I know that my mouse, keyboard and speakers suck but I don't really need good ones... well the speakers should be average but the keyboard and mouse doesn't have to be any special. And yes the the space will be enough, I'm only going to use my comp for WoW and have music on it and some other stuff that will take max 100gb ![]() Thanks in advance |

Your MB is for AMD...
A $800 - $900 list (exclude shipping + tax) should include something like: E4500 + 2600XT/ 8600GT or 8800GS/HD3850 (depends on budget) + Gigabyte/ MSI P31/P35 MB + 2x1GB RAM + 160GB HDD + DVD burner + 450w-500W PSU + Cheap case + OS + 19" LCD Monitor... No idea which area of europe are you from, can't have the actually price... Last edited by daisymtc; 02-25-2008 at 04:18 PM. |

2. you can't use intel CPU with a AMD motherboard. 3. Never heard of the brand of your PSU, not sure about its quality. 4. If don't need OS, I do suggest you go for HD3870/ 9600GT. But again, no idea which part of europe you are coming from, can't tell how much more expensive than buying stuff in US. |

Is that Gigabyte P35 MB good for overclocking? Because I was thinking about OCing my processor, that way i could go with the E4300 or E4400, reviews tell me that they're good for OCing at least.. And I'm probably going with Nvidia Geforce 8800GS, it looks nice. Also will I need an extra fan or something? if so, could you link a good but cheap one?
thx |

1) Yes it's great for OCing.
2) No, the 8800GS has one. 3) If you mean CPU fan, it also gives you one, as long as it is a RETAIL CPU.

Also, you may buy aftermarket CPU cooler with thermal grease. e.g. mid price Arctic cooler freezer 7 pro + MX-2 |
