Question will this RAM upgrade work?

my friend is unsatisfied after having his laptop for over three years. i told him some ways to speed it up. i suggested another gig of RAM. (also suggested msconfig, not using Internet Explorer) so i had him download CPU-Z to get the info needed to buy the right RAM. he said that it is PC2- 3200. its running at 200Mhz, though when i type in PC2-3200 on newegg, it comes up with RAM running at 400Mhz. im worried whether or not this will work.
also i dont have any other info at this point. its a Dell inspiron.

this is what i was thinking: http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16820144180 and maybe getting two. he has two slots. the thing im really worried about though is that it is unbuffered! will it work????

run this utility on the computer and it will tell you exactly what it will take.

http://www.4allmemory.com/index.cfm?pid=399

www.Cleaner.com also has utility that will do the same task as MSCONFIG.It will also clean up his registry.

Have him run Ccleaner,The Registry tool and run the delete start up function and I bet he will get the speeds he is looking for.
