Default Some questions about my new desktop for the experts...

Hi everyone, I recently purchased a new computer with the following characteristics:
Case: CoolerMaster Cavalier 3
Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R
CPU: Intel Quad Core 6600
RAM: Kingston 4 x 1GB, 800 Mhz DDR2 total 4GB
VCard: Nvidia 8800 GT OC from BFG, 512MB RAM
HDD: 160 GB SATA II Maxtor (System) + 500 GB SATA II Maxto (Storage)
DVD RW and DVD ROM from LG
22" Daewoo LCD widescreen Flat Panel
Windows XP pro SP2

I have some problems and I can't fin the questions anywhere.

1. I have some weird problems with my USB ports. I try to use a simulator program for radio controlled airplanes, which comes with an interface for the Transmitter I use with my planes. When I connect it, I get this strange behaviour from the controls, they get all weird and jumpy as if something was causing interference of some kind, or as if the ports were not properly grounded. However, usb memory or other accesories seem to work fine. Can it be a case of bad grounding or can you think of anything else that could be causing this problems? Drivers for the USB ports? Drivers for the MOBO? Any ideas or suggestions?

2. I try to connect my monitor with my vcard through DVI to HDMI with no success. VGA works fine in the native resolution (1680x1050). I even started a whole thread on this one in the vcard and monitors section, so if you can chime in, I'd really appreciatte it. The thread is this one: 8800 GT OC black screen on DVI, native resolution only

You need to Calibrate your controller first.

A dead port is not rare.

thanks oscaryu, however, the controller in no. 1 does this as I'm trying to calibrate, so I never get the thing calibrated and working properly. It's like there was a bad connection or something, but I tried the interface in another comp. and it works fine.

about the second, if it was a dead port, I don't think I would be able to see any resolutions through the port, right?

Hmm... Are the drivers installed? And try using the front/rear USB ports.

So what's your problem? I'm not getting it. The port works but you can't change your resolution?

The problem is that the digital signal from the vcard to the monitor gets lost, only when I try above the 1400x900 (or something like that) resolution.

My monitor's native resolution is 1680x1050 and when I try this one, I get the black screen. This is only in digital out. In VGA, this resolution is displayed correctly, but I've read that the digital connection is, and looks, better than the analog one.

I'm not too sure about that... Have you tried another monitor?
