Default 15 GB Hard Drive?

I am thinking of getting a ibook. I found one for only $200 with 384 MB. The only disadvantage is that it has a 15 GB Hard Drive. Is that too small to run OS X?

Spend a little more for some more memory as well as a larger drive or replace the 15gb with a larger model. The drive is large for the OS X but won't leave room for too much else.

How much do you think it will cost to upgrade the Hard Drive?

For that you would have to check newegg for depending size, type(ide or sata), and availabilty by brand as well. The specifications will show that to be an ide model obviously due to the small size.

The cheapest are also the generally the cheapest made Hitachi and Toshiba 40gb models seen at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...1212&name=40GB

Since you will most likely want some space the 80gb models go for about $60 and offer a wider range by brand at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...1214&name=80GB

For a dual boot of OSs you would then want a larger drive to start with depending on how many programs you intend to add as well as spliting a drive up. Note that sata models for laptops/notebooks see a higher price as a rule. First look at the specifications however to verify the present drive simply isn't an earlier smaller sized sata before deciding on any.

I would be running 10.3 though. But still it is too small of drive.

It's too small of everything. It's not worth that kind of money.

If you can find any newer at a low price you would be even better off in the long run since that would give you more options.
