What mobo are you getting? are you going Intel or AMD?

Well either way, if you're on a budget, the best cards you can get for the money are the HD3870, 9600GT and the 8800GT. All three of them about the same, with prices changing in proportion with their performance. (I mean that you will get a good card for the money regardless of which one you pick)

im getting a cheap abit pci-x intel motherboard. im on a tight budget so i just found something cheap for now and i also found a 7950 gt oc for $50 bucks. im mostly taking the parts from my comp now and just got the motherboard that was compatible with it all. ill eventually be upgrading the ddr400 to ddr2 533, and also a faster processor(i have a pentium d dual core 2.66 right now.) this is a site to the mobo im getting. not the greatest but its sumthin for now

You would usually find a DDR2 677 is cheaper than DDR2 533.

Why in the world would you buy a PCI-X motherboard? Do you mean PCI-E?

And DDR2-800 is cheaper than them both. they even have great rebates
