What's up guys? Well we're gonna upgrade my sister's comp and we've decided (haha not really!
) that I'm gonna give her my current CPU/mobo/RAM and instead of my dad giving my sister some money to buy her stuff, he's gonna give it to me. So I was thinking of the E2160 for my upgrade. How does this look? CPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819116036 Mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128077 - or - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128084 - or - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128059 RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231098 CPU Cooler http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835186134 Which mobo should I get? Is there really a big difference? Cause the cheaper the better! ![]() Also, when OC'ed will it perform better than the X2 3800+? Thanks guys! ![]()

I'd go with the P31. Less onboard USB ports and audio options from the P35 are the differences, I believe. Yes, it'll definitely perform better overclocked, although I'm not sure if your sister needs it OC'd. Everything else looks great, IMO. What about the PSU, HD, Optical drive, etc.?

Oh hehe, the E2160 build would be for me! The X2 3800+ (which I currently have) would go towards my sister. I already have everything else I am just gonna upgrade her comp with my current CPU/mobo/RAM. And my dad's probably gonna help me with some $$ for my Intel build...

Oh, I see. Yeah, the E2160 would be a nice upgrade. Get the DS3L, in that case. You'll probably use the additional USB ports, and, as you know, it's an awesome board.

Yeah, it has tons of positive reviews on Newegg. And I guess it is also the better one at OC'ing or are they all the same?

The P31 and P35 are basically exactly the same. Just that the P31 series can only support a maximum of 4GB, while the P35 chipset can support up to 8GB.

Thanks for all the comments mep! and Oscar!
![]() And one more question, I've read in some of the reviews off: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128077 that, I may need to update the BIOS to F4 for full support of the E2160. Is updating the BIOS hard?
