What is wrong with my laptop?

Okay guys, I'm having an annoying problem with my laptop. Basically, whenever I play audio or video on the internet, it gets choppy, freezes, lags, and just doesn't work like it is supposed to. It wasn't anything I downloaded or installed because my computer has been restored to how it was when I first purchased it. Especially on videos, they won't play without being laggy and out of synch and really just screwed up. Same with audio, so does anybody have any idea of what exactly is wrong with my laptop? I'm pretty sure it's not my speakers either, because when I play downloaded videos/songs, they work fine, nearly perfect. Also, what can I do to fix it? Thanks, I would really appreciate your advice.

update the sound card driver.

also update your chipset

Make sure your display drivers and web broswer's are up to date.
And make sure your flash player plugin is up to date.
