Default strange problem

Hi guys!
I am really confused about the problem that I just got out of nowhere.
My speakers were working fine..until i changed the video card.hmm. maybe its not even relevant, though.
Now only one speaker works. The right one.
I plugged speakers to my iPod and they both worked fine, so its not a speaker problem.I thought it might be the socket problem in the pc, however when I plug earphones in the socket, they also both work fine.
What can be the problem then? And how can I fix that?
I would be very greateful! this is rather annoying

thanks in advance
Aly, x

Try reinstalling your sound drivers.

could be an irq conflict. check in your device manager to see if there are any problems/they are assigned to the same irq.

Thank you! it seems that this is where the problem comes from.
here's the screen shot of what i see

However I cant manually change my IRQ settings (the Use automatic settings is greyed out).
How do I do this?

I had this exact problem, the whole irq rubbish. I just pulled the sound card out and put it in another port

There's nothing wrong with the IRQs.. There's no conflict there. XP and Vista can share IRQs with numerous devices simultaneously without problems.

I'm not sure exactly what it is, but another pair of speakers would tell you in a hurry.
