I currently have this mobo.
GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard I have seen many online articles and accounts of using ddr2 1066 memory, although the mobo specifics only state that ddr2 800 works. Has anyone seen or have this board and used this memory? I would like to upgrade the memory sometime in the future since RAM is so stinking cheap now. Thanks.

If you are going to upgrade buy another 2 gigabytes of DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) memory. From what I've read DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) memory is just market hype to get more money out of your wallet.

I have that board, I'm using slower RAM with it but there isn't any reason it shouldn't work. I agree with 2048 about it being rather pointless though

Yea that is why I decided to just OC, a little bump in performance.
