Default Burning music onto CD-R

Just bought a pack 100 CD-R's. I burned 2 CD's just fine and I put my 3rd CD in to burn another and it will not read. I opened my burning program and it says insert CD to begin. I tried the other CD's and it's not detecting them at all. Please tell me I don't need a new CD drive or whatever those are called.

  1. open up ur comp
  2. reset thecables which plug into ur Cd Drive
  3. Make sure the power cable is plugged in
  4. close case
  5. boot it up and get into ur bios and check if it shows ur cd drive
  6. if it does continue ono the regular boot and try again
  7. post back results

I would assume so cause when I open it up the light goes on so I would think it has power. And I'm not extremely knowledgable with computers so when you say swap do mean swap the DVD drive cable with the CD drive cable?

That didn't work either. Looks like I need a new drive. Thanks for the help though.
