Default Partitioning a drive?

Can anyone explain to me how to partion one of my hard drives.
I am running windows on a 150 gig WD Raptor drive
I also have 2 500 gig hard drives installed and 6 500 g externals for storage.

I am a photographer and videographer, that is why so much storage, video eats it up.

anyways, I have several adobe software programs I want to set up on their own drive. Adobe Phtoshop, Premier Pro, After Effects, Encore, Soundbooth, Illustrater and Device Manager. The libraries for these are pretty big so want plenty of space. (Thinking 100 gig partition)

How do you partition one of my two 500 g seagate HD's?

Alot of the storage is in raid 0 so only using half of 4 of the 500 gig drives.

When I video a wedding and working on the edit, its not unusual to be using 40-50 gigs of storage until its finalized and rendered. So if I have 3 weddings I am working on you can see your HD's getting eaten up.

If I was in your position i would put all your hardware demanding programs on the raptor, and put all your saved information on the other 500 gig harddrives for storage. Raptor makes a big difference.

Would you partition the raptor first, and can you partition it after windows is already loaded?
