Default Logitech X-230

I asked a salesguy today if these speakers were shielded for interference with monitors and he said no. Well, since I don't quite trust salespeople, I thought I'd ask here as well.

If the answer really is no, then how would these be practical when set next to a monitor? I assume that's where most people put them. Or do they not affect LCD screens like they would CRT?

I know that some electronic devices cause interference with a monitor and make the image flicker (this actually happened with a little fan I have a work...I can't put it right next to my monitor), and I assume when speakers say they are "electronically shielded" this means they won't cause interference. Am I right in that assumption? And the sales guy said these particular speakers aren't shielded, so I concluded that they would cause monitor flickering, etc. Hopefully I'm wrong!
